 Recycling

Since its inception back in 2015, the Centenary Recycling Program has strived to offer a place for all of Effingham to come and properly recycle. We feel called to care for the Earth. We believe it is a very important part of our ministry, as well as a very important service to offer to our community. But recent changes in the recycling markets have forced us to change the way we offer recycling opportunities to you.  Unfortunately, this means that many of the items that were accepted up to this point are no longer acceptable.

Recycling Bins Are Still Available

Only the following items will be accepted for recycling:

  • Clear Plastic Water and Soda Bottles.  For Example:

  • TRANSLUCENT Milk Jugs.  For Example:

  • Broken Down CORRUGATED Cardboard Only.  *NOTE - We CANNOT accept cardstock type food boxes.  Only cardboard with the accordian paper cushion in between two flat panels.  For Example:

There will be three separate bins for each of these items.  Please separate all of your recycling items and make sure to break down your corrugated boxes.

We CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT Paper, Aluminum, or Non-Corrugated Card Stock (Food Boxes).

We still CANNOT accept: styrofoam, steel, electronics, tires, paint, glass, or chemicals.

IMPORTANT! - Please do NOT leave your recyclables in plastic bags or garbage bags.  The bags will contaminate the entire load, making it un-recyclable.

Other Recycling Opportunites

Don't forget that we also accept several smaller recyclable items inside the church.  These can be dropped off anytime during regular business hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  We currently accept:

  • Used Ink Cartidges
  • Used Cell phones
  • Used Glasses

Thank You so much for the years of support of Centenary's recycling program.
